Hard Times
I'm quite stressed with too many things to do and so many things are up in the air.
Now the 3215 saga looks puny compared to the stress I'm feeling now. But, I will keep smiling and laughing 'coz when I am doing that, I forget about the stresses.

Things Anew
Everything is new and I'm trying to get used to them. No more 20-cent coins chasing for laundry; that's a good thing. But, at the same time, no more 40-minute cloth dryer; that means I have to wait longer for my laundry to dry up.
Well...there are a lot more things, but I have run out of time for tonight.
A plethora of mixed feelings occupy my mind now. I miss someone very much as well.

MasterCard Payment at McDonald
Not enough cash in the wallet. Went upstairs to ATM. Was shocked by the length of the queue.
Came down and exchanged USD20. Went to McDonald. Ordered something.
Found out that they were accepting MasterCard payment.
I could have just walked in without the trouble of finding the ATM after all. =S

Bye Ronaldo
Now, his dream has come true. He's going to Real Madrid.
Is he unfaithful to ManU? Well...some say yes. But, I don't know why...I can understand his desire—just that desire to finally go to somewhere he has always thought he belongs to and somewhere he has always wanted to go.
He's finally there, against all odds.
Bye to him. =)
Time, again
There are just too many things I NEED to do and I feel pathetic not to have enough time to attend to all of them. It's not that I don't have the capacity to give my attention to them, but it's just that I need some more time to do all of them.
It's not like any of them can be postponed; each is calling for action on their own and I'm quite disappointed at this hectic moments of life. It's really like I'm a robot doing things in sequence according to some order.
Anyway, at this moment of time when things are taking shape and roads are getting themselves clear as time passes by, I need to stay focused and be easily adaptable to achieve some (ultimate) goals. =)

Obama’s Family Commitments
For his kids:
- The president has dinner with his family most nights.
- The president attends his daughters' parent-teacher conferences.
- The president manages to exercise every day before work.
- The president has read all of the Harry Potter books with his daughter Malia.
For his spouse:
- The president has a weekly date night with Michelle. (WOW!!!)
- The president compliments Michelle in public.
- The president invited his mother-in-law to move in with his family.
The full article is at San Francisco Chronicle.
That’s quite an amazing commitment from a very busy president. Most of us are probably not as busy as he is. His time management is just superb!
Well…what to say? A great example to follow! =)

Internet Explorer 8 is the best?
Huh? I’d better switch to IE8 right now!
What a ridiculous effort by IE team! This is not even a “nice try”!!! Are they nuts?

MSN Icons
I do understand that people like to use icons in the chat. They really make the chat fun and more expressive.
But...aren't the guys at Microsoft smart enough that when I type "this", I'm not referring to tHIs? I'm not saying Hi to anyone! I'm just referring to something through the word "this"!!! Are they that stupid?!!!!! Just because a combination of the two letter "hi" appears within a word doesn't mean that it is a HI!!! This is just so so plain simple fact!
Oh yeah...these guys are really smart; otherwise they won't be earning a fortune of $$$ at Microsoft. So, the problem of detecting "this" is not saying "Hi" must be a super complicated process! After all, there are tons of words that contain the two letters "hi" within them! So, how can the software possibly know that? Exactly! It's very difficult! Hands Up!!!
But wait...I heard of a jargon called "delimiter"! I don't know what the computer science students at school mean when they are talking about delimiters. Sometimes I hear white space, sometimes a dash. I was also told they can be used to check the start and end of words. Don't ask me how to do. That must be a super complicated process too! Hmm....maybe this super-complicated things called delimiters could probably solve another super-complicated process of detecting "hi" in the word "this" is not really a "hi"?!!!
I'll keep myself occupied for the whole night pondering on how a super genius at Microsoft will make a wonderful discovery on solving the problem I mentioned above.
But, please please some super geniuses at Microsoft, please solve this! I can't take it anymore; a right-click on the icon and a left-click on Add to see what the word behind is too painful for me! (Don't ask me to turn off the icons altogether! I am not like you guys who can stare at Unix...oops...Windows black-screen command prompt all the time. I want some fun while chatting!)
Well...before these geniuses come up with a rescue, a dumb suggestion to remedy the problem is just to use a dash or some other sign to prefix or suffix the word to represent the icons. A plain example will be -hi or $hi or #hi instead of just hi.

Evie’s 27th, the Photo Memo
The Decoration =)

Playing around while waiting for Jo and Evie
The birthday boy came (and to his surprise…)
Was eating and chitchatting outside…
The five of them were caged inside. LOL! (Sorry Jaspie =D Your face covered by the lamp!)
Ho ho…the cake! It’s a star-shaped! Very nice actually. =)
Some group photos:
8/10 TSKs =D
And the two of course =)
Opening the presents…he was quite slow!!!
Guess what this is? 16GB Flash Drive!!! Haha…I still remember my first ever HDD was only 20GB!!!
Design books for him! (They are from library. Heh…)
I gotta borrow the book from him after he’s done. ;)
Later that night, went to Lunar, and Evie and CX got drunk. LOL! Poor Jackson was bullied by CX; she was quite strong when she got drunk. LOL!
The photos from the club are with Jing. =)
The next day, went for rollerblading and I fell down almost ten times! Later went swimming and we headed for dinner. Me and CX were leaving on the second day after dinner.
Another group photo at the bus stop while on the way for dinner:
Oh…this was taken by Evie! The seductive Jo. LOL!
Not all the memories were captured on my camera. It was real fun indeed though! I gotta collect some more photos from other cameras after they recover from post-chalet syndrome.
Something not pleasant
Now that the symptoms have led their way to the root of the disease, I need to find a way to cure it ASAP before it gets worse!

Post-It Notes Video
Windows 7 without Internet Browser
The rationale behind this is to remove anti-trust competition and to allow the consumers to make better choice. But, isn't this going to add more hassles to the consumers? Now, without a single web browser, how can a well-informed consumer download and install Firefox or Chrome?
I also don't know how to get Firefox without the built-in Internet Explorer that comes with Windows. (Unless I keep the installers files on a flash drive of course.)
Funny GIFs
Got it from a forward mail. Very funny. =D
If you disabled your browser’s GIF animation, please turn it on to see the animated GIFs.

Lost in thoughts
But, I'm quite surprised that I have become lost in thoughts and forgot to get off the bus after pressing the bell. It's not the first and only time. There were times I forgot to get off at a station while on the train as well.
I don't know what's wrong with me actually. LOL! Maybe there arose so many things I need to contemplate over? Perhaps.

Stamford’s House
Just taken with a point-and-shoot camera on the way to City Hall from Bugis on last Sunday. Didn’t think it would turn out nice. Final output is not bad. =)

Frustrated
Yeah! I’m quite frustrated. =S
In testing an improvement and a bug fix to the code, I messed around and accidentally deleted the whole experiment folder with rm –r. That’s it. Gone are the results of a few hours worth of testing runs.
The only silver lining here is I still have the raw data and template files to re-run the experiments to get the results again. Grr…
Bing Image Archive
Long Zheng from istartedsomething set up an archive for Bing search engine home page background images. The archive can be found at this link: http://www.istartedsomething.com/bingimages/. Quite cool that he did it. =)
There are two images for each day: one for US and the other for International version. There are two types of direct link to an image on a particular day: for example, http://www.istartedsomething.com/bingimages/#20090526-us is a link to an image on 26 May 2009 US version; for international version, use au in place of us. (Please note Long Zheng is from Australia.) The link above will show in the background the calendar for the current month.
If you want to show the calendar for a particular month, use this link: http://www.istartedsomething.com/bingimages/?m=5&y=2009#20090526-au. Actually there are two more parameters in the URL: m and y. The meaning of the parameters should be self-explanatory. If the two parameters are not provided (as in the first link), the PHP page defaults to the current year and month.
There are some really nice photos over there, especially if you like photography.

Threesome
Read the translated article at this blog: http://stranger-worlds.blogspot.com/2009/06/lucky-man-marries-thai-twins.html
On being interviewed by Thai Rath reporters, Mr Wichai declared wholeheartedly that he didn't see much problem in having to perform tiresome marital duties with two wives.
Just an OMG is enough. =D
I don't know what he is thinking, but perhaps he will benefit from some scheduling software.
Google Apps Sync for MS Outlook
With this took, Google has done just right to solve the user interface issue (and effectively reduced to zero the learning curve of the new Google Apps users). Perhaps, if the administrator is clever, the users of Google Apps would probably not even know their mail and calendar are supported in the back-end by Google Apps instead of the (expensive) Exchange Server.
