AntiVirus: MSE

I think an AntiVirus is great when I don’t remember that I have it installed.

I installed Microsoft Security Essential as a test because of the hype among the media. Since then, I have forgotten that I have MSE installed on my machine. It is by default set to scan the files I use and download, and I haven’t noticed any noticeable drop of performance.

I’m not sure of other AntiVirus applications like Norton and McAfee (I hope Norton has improved since the memory hog days). But, this thing—MSE—is free and really great. I have yet to see it catch anything, but that could be due to my daily computer use which involves browsing the internet and only downloading legitimate files.

I think I’m just…out of nowhere…hailing Microsoft MSE. It’s really good, that it is!
