NUS Business School Gets New Home

Just found this piece of news from The Ridge.

Biz School faculty moved in to the new building last month. So, SoC is gonna move into the (old) vacated Biz 1 block. Before this, SoC got a refuge in the (old) Law school.

Always a hand-me-down, SoC. =.=

Google Reader is…really fast!

I just wrote something about last night’s CNY Blackjack and went on to read some jokes in Reader.

I found the post already there. Not even a minute has passed.

Technology amazes me these days! Not that I haven’t heard about pubhubsubbub—yes, a REALLY REALLY FUNNY and WEIRD name! But, I didn’t imagine it would be that much. v_v

CNY Blackjack

One really fun evening playing Blackjack with Jo, Evan, Bryan, Jing & her mum, Jasp, Yanguang and Shannon.

No photo from the event, so I just post the two cards I always wanted at every hand. But, most of the time I saw an Ace, the other card just wasn’t a picture. =X I got it several times, but it seems all our aura was absorbed by Bryan who kept winning. LOL! I remember the last round: Everybody—Jo & Evan and I already closed shop—raised the bet and Bryan ate all of them (times two) with a spectacular Blackjack! xD

Much thanks goes to Jing’s mum who prepared a delicious dinner for all of us and for the mini-Ang Pao!!!

Problems with Q&A Sites

Just heard that Google acquired Aardvard which is just another Q&A service.

The problem with these Q&A services is not how easy to use the application is or how user-friendly it is; the real problem is the quality of questions asked. I tried answering for a few days, but there are just so many “junk” questions, aka, no brainers.

What is the best smart phone to buy currently?

See enough of these questions, and you start to think there’s no use wasting time browsing the questions even if you have good intentions to answer and even if you might find some good questions that you can help answer.

Windows Live Q&A is also fully infested with these stupid questions.

I was used to being told that if I was educated, I wouldn’t have to work like hell.

I can’t fully agree. Whether white or blue color collar, it doesn’t matter. The stress is equally there; only the form of work and the type of stress differ.

When it comes to work-related deaths: White color collar workers die from suicides. Blue color collar workers die from accidents.

Google Reader Feature

I just thought of one thing that, if implemented, would be quite useful to me. Sometimes, some reader items are not worth sharing, but they are worth keeping for personal interest or later use. In this case, it would be nice to have the capability to leave a note on why I thought it would be useful for me later…for a purchase, for a research topic, for blah blah blah.

I don’t know if it’s true for other users, but it’s truly a bless for me to have it.
